High-Side Battery Current Sensor with Op-Amp - LM741, TL082, LM358, etc. This circuit example is taken from the 2008 datasheet of the MCP6041 op-amp, Typical Application on page 1 and see page 16 for more explanation. I've tested this circuit with the LM741(split power supply) and LM358(single rail), and it works as expected. I've also written a PDF with some explanations for those who may not fully understand the calculations or the formulas provided in the datasheet.
