When asked which song would be the best to show to anyone who hadn't heard of Yes, Chris chose Heart of the Sunrise, because it had so many different contrasting sections in mood, dynamics and predominance for each instrument or vocals. I do agree!

So - what is, for you, the song that you would show to anyone listening to Yes for the very first time?
Let me know in the comments!

Fantastic playing and sound. This makes me wish I could play with a pick.
Going to see YES this Friday.

You should be Yes's bass player after Chris passed on... He would be very proud

Two years ago my wife had a dream I would die within the year. I have always had a Fender Jazz Bass and an Amp, yet have never played a day in my life. I decide that morning when my wife told me of her dream; I would spend a year to learn how to play that bass, one of my life dream to learn to play a guitar. This was the first video I saw and wanted to play. It has been 2 years and I am still alive. I still can't play a guitar, but I would like to thank you for giving me hope. :) Love this video. :) Doc

Holy Cow!! I was watching last night my dvd of YES Live at the Apollo. Naturally, I've had "Heart of the Sunrise" going thru my head and tonight was trying to play it on my Fender Jazz.( without a pick!). I was really impressed with Lee Pomeroy's playing of the tune on the dvd. So I come upstairs to my computer to find the bass tab and saw this video listed. Ok, I'll watch it. My jaw is STILL on the floor!! So inspiring to watch and listen. (I might even invest in some PICKS!) Thank you so much. I've been a HUGE YES fan for 46 years now. I'm sure Chris would be extremely proud of what you've done!

One of the few clips I have seen where Chris Squire's nuances style as well as his unique tone were recreated. Well done. Makes me want to go out and buy a Rickenbacker Chris Squire model bass.

Heart of the Sunrise has not been one of my favorites, but it is now!! Chris's nuances of melody, counter and harmonizing passages are so much more apparent now! Thank you!

Chris Squire remains the most fascinating bass player ever. He must have had an innate sense for counterpoint. Great playing man!

I am journeying to become the best bass player I can be. I have improved much in only a year. I have no formal training and only play to music I like. I have just tried to learn the sounds that go well with the music and learn the patterns of picking. You have been an inspiration to me since Chris Squire is my favorite bassist and the reason I decided to learn bass finally.

I love this way to play bass. Only in the 70's
Nowadays everybody thinks that you are a martian if you play bass using pick.

Now I can really appreciate what an intricate bass line that is. Wonderful.

Your fantastic playing makes a longtime Yes fan like myself appreciate Squire's genius even more....

There is nothing more educational than faithfully executing a masterpiece. This video is especially valuable for bassists that don't have large hands like CS, as the demonstrator shows a lot of adaptation to make up for the lack of showy spidery technique that taller bassists can exhibit. Being tall, I never really thought about it, before I saw this video.

Amazing and most faithful covers of Chris Squire's bass parts. Well done, young man!

Miguel-
You just make me so happy.
Those Squire lines are for some reason very dear to me, growing up in the 70’s I remember wondering why other bassists didn’t just quit!
Lol
I was 10 when Roundabout came on the AM radio then, what the hell is that bass?
At that age I hadn’t been exposed to Entwistles famous live tones yet.
Chris always so upfront in the mix, and why not of course, but as a teenager his bass just struck me, but more with emotions somehow. Hard to explain, but now that I watch your videos it makes me quite emotional, you’re just the finest, I’ve never heard anyone nail it like you are. Yes I have a Ric 4001s, but you surely need a lot more than that or a certain preamp-superb talent.
You certainly have that.
Portugal must be so proud!
Really enjoyed video of Chris singing your Ric certificate.
Your the best.
Chris and Geddy showed me a great new sound and vision of playing, melody with the most excellent skill.
God Bless
Just enjoy so much, words escape.
Those lines are very precious to me.
