I've got two things for youu this time! First, the three little "coffins" you saw were not childrens coffins. They were "bone boxes" for the original inhabitants of that vault. To save space they were removed from their old coffins (these were disposed of) to be put into those little recepticles. And second: the crematory was already going full swing. Thanks to modern filters and regulations they don't spit out anything but hot air.

Out of all of the cemeteries you’ve taken us to, this might very well be my favorite. The setting, for openers, surrounded by lush green hills. The artistry and uniqueness of each mausoleum takes my breath away. There is a profound sense of repose and godliness as you traverse the cemetery lanes. The tolling of the church bells makes this just about perfect. The decaying mausoleums parallels life, doesn’t it. Thank you, Dan.

What I really loved about that one blackened tomb that you commented on, was the super dead palm tree right next to it!! Of course, I am a botanist, so I found it quite interesting as well as somewhat creepy. What a glorious cemetery in general! It is so beautiful, especially with all the different trees, vines and other plants growing throughout. Thank you so much for taking us with you on these walks and adventures. I would join you in a heartbeat if I could. So many of those tombs are reminiscent of the ancient Roman tombs that once lined the Via Appia and other ancient thoroughfares. The tradition has never passed out of fashion, though it's more a cultural thing, I think. A very cool one! Thank you again and all the best.

I always wonder how the relatives or families of these deceased people could afford such huge morceliams for their loved ones.
People in the UK can barely afford a funeral and burial these days.

The most beautiful cemetery i ever seen, gothic architecture style, romanian billars and egyption. Crucifix statues . The stairs very beautiful.
