HTC 10 Review

Lisa Gade reviews the HTC 10, the company’s flagship Android smartphone for 2016. HTC’s turned things around with the 10— it hits all the sweet spots with none of the gotchas of other recent m series phones.

The HTC 10 is clad in metal with a wide chamfer on the sides, and its curves feel good in hand. The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with HTC Sense UI on the top of the line Snapdragon 820 CPU with Adreno 530 graphics and 4 gigs of RAM. It has 32 gigs of internal storage and a microSD card slot that can extend storage. The phone has a 5.2” QHD Super LCD 5 display clad in Gorilla Glass, and it has enhanced touch response.

The HTC 10 will be available in early May 2016 on most major carriers. It’s also available as a GSM unlocked phone via HTC’s website for $699. Both front and rear cameras have optical image stabilization, and the rear 12MP camera with enlarged pixel sites takes excellent photos and 4K video. The HTC 10 has a 3,000 mAh battery and a Quick Charge 3.0 charger is in the box. It has a high quality 24 bit audio DAC and separate headphone amplifier for excellent wired headphone sound.

Long time iPhone user I was waiting out for the iPhone 7 but switched to the HTC 10 after that disappointing mess of a phone was officially announced. If anyone else is thinking of switching out of the IOS ecosystem this is by far the best phone to do it with i freaking love mine. Best phone purchase i've ever made :D

I had the M7, loved it, traded for an M8. Passed on the M9, hoping this would the phone I was looking for. It is and I've already pre-ordered from HTC with the $100 off coupon. I stuck with the silver but may have regrets for not getting the charcoal. Nicely done review

Summed it up perfectly, I migrated to a Moto X Style/Pure but I think this has tempted me back after the lack later M9.

no gimmicks or new useless features, it is a great smartphone all around for the daily use, it does everything perfectly.
the new approach from HTC is smart, it does what any smartphone does but better.
I think manufacturers should focus more on perfecting the basic things before adding new gimmicky things.

I like the way HTC / Google eliminated duplicate apps and the way you can store apps on your SD card. Pretty close to stock Android. Can't wait to see it in the flesh.
