My wife and I both, this year, experienced diagnoses of cancer. We have both been thru successful surgeries. We sang this at church during this time. Neither of us could sing because we felt the Holy Spirit just wrap around us. It is such a great feeling to know that God cares for each of us.

This song uplifts me every time: 1) After 17 years of a wonderful career I had to take a huge pay cut and work in the sidelines as an hourly employee due to health reasons 2) after 7 great years of trust and everything you can almost find promising, a friend drops you like a hot potato; 3) your mother just passed away and your father stubbornly finds pleasure in someone who clearly is taking advantage of the emptiness and void in his life, without taking into consideration what his children thinks about this secretive relationship. 4) Livelihood in general is harder to get by pay check to pay check and then you are hit with covid and bills. It’s all down hill. But the Lord remains victorious. My situation may not change and so does Christ. He is the same fortress my soul and spirit runs to because He has always been there. The same God before I was born, the present one who rules my life, and He will be there waiting for me in the future.

I first heard this song in 2016 when my family was going through a storm of crises at that time. The Holy Spirit poured His anointing on me for getting receptive to the words of this song. My faith rose up to believe the impossible for my family and exactly as I pronounced faith into the situation that was so overwhelming at that time, God moved in an amazing way to stabilize our situation so beautifully at that time and even now this song repeatedly reminds me to hold on to Him no matter what as He is faithful to keep all His promises to us, and I see the red sea opening and I just am awestruck by His sheltering and powerful Hands shielding us through all situations in our lives.
