Honest question, I've been working loads and not had as much time for vids on YT..didn't you say you weren't buying anything in 2021 unless it was a limited edtion of a real fave?

Super UK Criterion sales regularly now they just need to bolster the selection more, good to see the US and UK relesae dates are getting closer now in some cases only 1 month apart.

The New World is my favourite Malick film, it's quite an experience!

Beau Travail is so awesome and compelling. Also, weird link to COVID-19 but I will have you have fun with that. All the other titles are great as well like The Music Room which is one of the greatest films ever, fantastic purchases!

14:23 Andrei Rublev I'm guessing?

Good timing if you want to sell Rosemary's Baby, recently went out of print. Definitely keeping mine tho.

Anatomy of a Murder is freaking awesome, quite controversial at the time. You’ll love it, watch as soon as possible.

You're going to sell Rosemary's Baby even with it being OOP now?! :o I mean, it's still going to be available from Paramount, so I guess it's not a huge deal, lol.
I'm looking forward to when B&N has there summer sale here. I have no idea what I'm going to get, yet, but I'll get at least a few titles!

Must be time for a new Collection Update video?

‘Picked this up cuz the gold lettering’ lol, I love how honest you always are.

FYI if you’re interested in the WONG KAR WEI set - I got mine from eBay seller THE ENTERTAINMENT STORE and it came really well boxed up in perfect condition

Great selection, in my opinion. Always like your broad-minded and respectful approach to the unknown, as well as the known.
Have only three of those myself: The Irishman, Swing Time, and Anatomy of a Murder. (And was close to getting Girlfriends several times already.) I envy you so much for the Criterion sales! Is that at HMV or something? (Living in Germany myself, so I basically have to order them from Amazon-UK.)Had to put The Music Room and La Jetee on my want-list now!

Oh, by the way, two questions bugging me since some time:
(1) What's that Warner Bros. media book in the pile on the back?
(2) How do you watch region A blu-rays?

Ivan's Childhood is Roger Deakins' favourite film. There, now you have heard something about it to get you excited. Oh, and yes, it is fantastic. I just picked it up too. Also, the Wong Kar Wai set is beautiful. It isn't flimsy. And after watching it, it's compulsory for Criterion fans imo. Every film in it is a masterpiece. I bought it only having seen Chungking Express, and he is now one of my favourite film makers of all-time. I paid full price for it and don't regret it at all. It's one of Criterions best releases ever.

The Wong Kar Wei set arrived damaged, the set is VERY prone to damage. Expect it to have folds in it that shouldnt be there. Got 34% of my payment back, figured getting another copy might arrive even more damaged.

Reference point: imagine the Apu trilogy but twice the size and five times the weight.

Awesome haul! As you said, you can't get enough with criterions and I am excited for the 50% off sale this July (hopefully). I am glad you are getting criterion in the UK. I am planning to get Ivan's Childhood in the sale. Great haul and have a good one!

The ones Ive seen:

Beau Travail 9/10
Anatomy of a Murder 8, 5/10
La Jetee 9/10
Sans Soleil 9/10
The Music Room 9, 5/10
Ivans Childhood 8, 5/10
The Irishman 8/10

Have seen The New World a long time ago, don't really remember liking it, but don't remember hating it also, so, yeah.

I usually dislike musicals, The Sound of Music is truly one of the biggest pieces of crap I had ever seen and the genre died with it for me. But then came La La Land and I loved it. After that I thought oke, maybe, and I tried Singin in the Rain, also loved it. So who knows, Swing Time is for sure on my radar now (the gold lettering was the thing that made me click it in the first place).

Fantastic unboxing as always, I really enjoy how in-depth you go on each film, and that cough was hilarious. Keep up the great work as always! It’s also nice to see Criterion UK releases.

Anatomy of a Murder is a terrific watch. Jimmy Stewart vs George C. Scott in court. Great direction makes 2hrs 40mins fly by.

Yeah Anatomy of a Murder is fantastic. I was gripped from the start, the hours just blew past. Jimmy Stewart in a battle of wits with George C. Scott, what more could you want.

Andrej Rublev is the title you couldn't remember.. A masterpiece. Ivan's childhood great as well, the first feature from Tarkovsky after he graduated from film school
