Contradictions exist compared to the first and the second version and the most reliable explanation seems to be this one until now:

Version 1 (Fast Version): The flip side of the single "You Send me" on Keen records (1957) 34013 (RK-6-57128)
Time: 2:24, Bumps Blackwell Orchestra:

Version 2 (Slow Version) : Keen single release of Summertime Part 1 and 2 in 1959 8-2101 (57129), presumably recorded in December 1958 Time : 2:17.
But, both tracks seems to run almost the same time.
Version 1 : Around 2:25
Version 2 : Around 2:23
So, maybe more accurate explanations are available somewhere.

I used to sing this song for my son when he was a baby, he loved it. Now he's twenty seven years old. I love Sam Cooke music, it puts you in that mood gives you that all is well feeling.

Great stereo mix. Interesting differences from "version 1".

Do both versions feature a young Carole Kaye on bass?
