An excellent business model. Charging a customer $2 is not a huge win. But having that same customer come in and buy something else for $2, every now and then, for the rest of their live is an enormous win.

Proud to say I have previously worked at Home Depot and it was probably one of the best jobs I ever had only second to my time in the Army.

Thing is that rarely translates to a business of that size. You dont go back bevause Homr Depot took care of you. But because THAT employee did. Once you leave the small regional/county sized company; you lose that.

Every Home Depot I’ve been to in the last few years, has been trash.

I went to my local HD yesterday. Could not find 1 person to help me with a plumbing question.

Unfortunately the model has changed. Poor customer service, employees are not knowledgeable about their products, crazy high prices and limited selection.
Then to add insult to injury, exclusively self check out.

I go to Ace now.

blames the customer for breaking it so they dont get blamed for not checking equipment before renting it out

He's also an ardent anti-unionist who treats his employees like slaves and gives miserable benefits. He made his billions off the back of blue collar workers and cheap chinese tools. This guy isnt any kinda genius
