I've owned a bunch of Emerson's over the years, both production and custom, and don't totally recall right now, but wasn't it Ernie who came out with a similar but much larger folder about 10 years ago?  I think it was called the Hummer or HMVEE?  I should know this because I used to own one lol..  I ordered it back when I was an active Usual Suspect on the USN website.  It had the same blade profile and everything, but it was a beast.  I paid a pretty penny for it.  It may have been a custom model.  I kept it in my collection for a while, then sold it to another USN member I think.

Nice knife, but with the similar (albeit a bit larger) ZT/Emerson 620 and 620CF coming soon, I would find it very difficult to purchase this one.  For roughly the same price, the ZT comes with better materials, frame lock vs. liner lock, and is at least equal to and probably higher in quality and strength.  Plus with the ZT, you still get the thumb disk, wave feature and Emerson's great design.

Are the cqc7 and bull dog sharper than the v grind Emersons? I wonder because I found the grind angle of my horseman not tend to bite into material. I thought the full chisel grind might make a difference. Please reply, thanks.

I wish Emersons weren't all chisel grinds otherwise I'd buy one.

Do all bull dog and big bull dog models have standoff instead of back spacers?

I dig it, but I don't know what it is about this knife... I'm getting a Persistence vibe. Two hundreds bones seems awful steep. Looks "budgety" to me. Maybe I'll feel different after I can handle one.
