My little sister and I both stayed with my dad. And I guess my baby sister just did what I did back then... God, she was so young! And me? Maybe I couldn't bare the thought of my dad sitting at home alone (daddies can get just as despaired than mommies), while my mum had a new guy. Maybe I wanted to punish my mother for cheating. Or maybe I just wanted to stay in the house and garden and neighborhood I knew (instead of moving to a new appartment in a different city with a new man - sooner or later - and a mom who's always abroad for business). Damn, it's been years since I was a little girl and I still haven't really figured out why I behaved the way I behaved at that time. Anyway, the only thing I know is, I'll rather not get married or not have children than put my kids through that time of war, including the years of continuous escalation leading up to it and the never-ending post-war stage in which they used us to keep fighting. People who didn't have to handle their parents' level of manipulation and irrationality and irresponsibility and waywardness during adolescence often think I'm just exaggerating to make a point because they can't really imagine what it means and think I'm just trying to make a point, but I'd seriously rather not have a family than affecting an innocent child's emotional health like that.
