Airbus Beluga takes off at Don Mueang

DON MUEANG - The world's largest commercial cargo plane, the Airbus Beluga, also known as the "Whale of the Sky", departs Bangkok for the first time, leaving from Don Mueang international airport and heading to Hong Kong. The Beluga is a specialised wide-body airliner used to transport aircraft parts and outsized cargoes. There are only six of the huge planes flying. It was reportedly delivering two helicopters from Marseille, in France, to Qingdao in China, and transited through Bangkok.
