These were the people everyone wanted to be. Posters on every bedroom wall across the country. The decade was a great time to grow up. For most people. But for child stars - not so much. Long hours of work and the unbearable scrutiny of being in the limelight 24/7 robbed these kids of a normal childhood. And while some were able to cope with their fame, many others were not and led far from happy lives.

In 2000 I went to Las Vegas to see David Cassidy for my 42nd birthday on April 6. During the song "I Think I Love You", he got off the stage and walked around the table's where the audience sat. I was on the isle where he would go bank on stage. He stopped at the table where I was and a lady at my table told David it was my birthday. I had brought the album cover with and Da I'd signed it and gave a kiss on the top of my head. I felt like I was 14 again and cried for a week.

I am 63 years old and I remember all these people. I appreciate this because it takes me back to the good old days.

I grew up with the Brady Bunch and Little House on the Prairie. I still like to go back and watch the shows. There is something comforting about them.

Erin was terrific and the way things played out for her was sad. I am glad to learn that Anson Williams stayed in touch with her. I am also happy to learn her second marriage lasted, and that she passed away in her sleep holding hands with her husband. Thank you for bringing all this to us.

Erin was an excellent singer. Least she passed, comfortably at home holding the hand of her husband. Many are not that blessed. RIP, Erin.

Erin was a very special person I only knew her as a costumer and friend from a small town Indiana. She had a loving kind heart and would lend a hand if you needed it even when you did not know she was sick. I watched her for years not knowing that I would be blessed to have seen her as a a amazing lady she was. Her love and enjoyment of the outdoors camping and fishing was heartwarming. Thank you Erin Xxoo

David W. Harper sounds like he handled fame the best. It's so sad how Erin Moran's life turned out. At least at the end of her life, she found peace. TY for sharing this. God Bless You & stay safe.

I knew David Cassidy very well and saw him not too very long before he went into the hospital. I have to say, he was one of the nicest gentlemen I've ever met. He was still touring when I knew him and he once told me that he was very lucky to be able to do every day what he loved. I was so sorry to hear of his death, I'd not seen him for a few months. We all lost a real gem.

I had 100 Tiger Beat pictures of David Cassidy on my wall as a teen…. Even seeing pictures of him today as he was back in 74-75 he’s breathtaking

Just a note. I didn't get involved with stardom but as a musician, going pro at 15, I was around many stars and the one that I was good friends with, Tommy Bolin, woke me up. I did some drugs and losing my friend, Tommy, I am glad I decided to just enjoy the good money and small limelight opting for the background job. Today, at 75, I went through the trials but get to enjoy playing music and enjoying it. The pressure of the stars is unbelievable and I don't think any story can portray the inner suffering.
I enjoyed the videos here and hope people will understand this. If you see a star in public, just smile and nod. That's the best way to go.

I'm glad Erin had turned her life around at the end and was with the person she loved and trusted the most. RIP, Erin. You were someone I had looked up to since I was a little girl with freckles seeing you on television made me think freckles could be beautiful too.

I watched the Brady Bunch today 😂 I'm 55 but a child on the inside. I had a huge crush on David Soul as Hutch on Starsky & Hutch. It's sad so many passed so young. And sadly many deaths were avoidable. Thank you😊

🕊️❤️🙏

I lived next to Allison Arngrim's inlaws in Portage County Ohio for about 3 years. She's such a wonderfully, brilliant and funny woman.

People get very judgemental when a person struggles in life without considering trauma they most likeky endured.

I met David Cassidy at a concert in 2001 in Kansas City at Harrahs he invited me up on stage in front of over Five Thousand people I had made a scrapbook for him when I was 16. When i went to buy my ticket I told the lady who sold it to me about my scrapbook. She told me to bring the scrapbook to the concert. She said she had a feeling something good was going to happen if I did. Which it did David could not see what i was holding up I was in the second row the lights were causing him to not see it. So he invited me on stage so he could seel what it was. One of the biggest highlights of my life I will never forget it!!! He was so kind and sweet to me He signed my scrapbook which I still have to this day! He gave me a big hug kissed me on the cheek told me he loved me told me God Bless You. I also was able to tell him some things back stage. I was devastated on the day David died!💔

I loved growing up in the 70s. Every time I went outside there were always kids to play with. We played pretend. We used our imaginations. We dug in the dirt and climbed trees and ran like the wind. Everything tasted great! It was wonderful. It was bad in some ways too, but that's life I guess.
