Pamukkale Travertines & Cleopatra's Pool are located in Denizli in western Turkey. Pamukkale which means "cotton castle", is known for the mineral-rich thermal waters flowing down white travertine terraces on a nearby hillside. It neighbors Hierapolis, an ancient Roman spa city founded around 190 B.C.

The Pamukkale Antique Pool, widely known as "Cleopatra's Pool" is a man-made pool said to have been a gift from Marc Anthony to Cleopatra. It is said that massive earthquake destroyed the Roman Temple to Apollo surrounding the pool, toppling the columns into the water, where they now remain for visitors to swim around.
