Ce film est l'histoire et le déroulement d'un ballet à l'Opéra Garnier ; depuis l'ouverture musicale jusqu'au tomber de rideau.Il est plein d'anecdotes et de tableaux : les danseurs, le public présents dans la salle ce soir là, l'orchestre, les techniciens en coulisses, la scénographie ; tout ce qui compose un spectacle à l'opéra, et donc pas seulement ce qui se passe sur scène...
This film is the story of a ballet at the Paris Opera; from the musical operture to the curtain-fall.

Ce film a été réalisé en 2012 dans le cadre d'un voyage d'échange à Calarts (Californie) par Louis THOMAS, étudiant de la formation Concepteur et réalisateur de films d'animation (3e année) à GOBELINS, l'école de l'image.

I love how they don't concentrate so much on the dancers, but on the audience and the people behind the performance. Their movements mimic the music and the climaxes and the rhythm, showing that everyday people, their actions and gestures are just as on pointe as the dancer's. Or at least, that's how i feel about it.

It puts you there and captures everything about the event. The "Magic" of a live performance and the experience. The ironic part is the style this was done in ..its unexpected. Beautiful!

Magnifique!! It puts us to think what is the real essence of this sort representation, is it the performance? Well maybe in a way because its the event that unites all the other representations that aren't imediatly perceived. Anyway its a brilliant way to re-enact a social event so that we can better understand it!
