This dress! In a long creamy yellow, it was my prom dress in 1980! I believe I made it with a Butterick pattern. I came across your channel early in the pandemic and I have really enjoyed seeing what young adults are sewing these days. I am so impressed with the "make your own patterns", which is what my grandmother used to do.

The dress was floor length and the straps twice as wide, but that’s my prom dress from 1978. Very popular then. Designer was Jessica McClintock, I believe.

That's so funny!! I literally saw that same exact dress, saved to my pinterest, and made one inspired by it until I can get materials I like to do a better version. If you're still having issues with your serger, I find that they can be temperamental and need to be threaded in a specific order. I go from right to left.

Not sure what your serger problem is but I know with mine I have to thread it in the EXACT order the manual says. It took me awhile to figure that out. Threading it isn't good enough. It has to be threaded cone by cone in whichever order the manual specifies. Your kitty is being so good! When my boy was young he once bit through each thread on my serger. He went cone by cone and cleanly nipped each one. The thing is a pain to rethread so I wasn't too happy about that! LOL
