I was still using 512MB VRAM in 2011. I remember my wallet suffering when I got this card because I had to buy a new PSU and then the motherboard had a proprietary power connector. In the end it was worth it because this card was revolutionary for the time. Great video, brings back many memories

Wow, this is kind of crazy that an almost 12 years old card can still run the newest titles like Hogwarts legacy. Totally didn't think that it would be close to a playable experience. I had one of these with my old Phenom II x4 system back in the day and still ran it in my Ryzen 7 3700x for a while when i sold my Vega 56 during the last mining boom. It's a surprisingly competent card.

The fan of the reference card is very strong. After the card broke, I inserted the fan and ripped off the fins. I glued the 23 cm fan to it with epoxy. I used it to cool myself down. Even if I run it with 5 volts, it gives out much more air than normal fans. When you give 12 volts, you cannot stay on it for a long time.

0:20 I had that exact card, exact brand. I had 4 of them tho, in crossfire. Hahah. You can't imagine the trouble I've been to getting them and playing with them. It was worth it.
