That dot matrix thing is way better than the Nothing Phone Glyph.
Not really gimmicky at all in my opinion. Because you don't even know it's there when it's off.

24 Gb ram, 1 TB storage in phone is crazy. Those specs would be great even for a laptop and to have this powerhouse of a hardware in our hand is completely insane!

Personally the screen on the back is more then a gimmick it’s actually really useful but also really unique. And the way it blends in so seamlessly is crazy

To really appeal to the masses, ASUS should also ramp up the update policy for like 4 years of major updates at least. Not only for the ROG Phones, but also for the Zenfone series. For that price, most consumers are likely to keep that for 4-6 years before they planned on replacing it with a new one.

8:10 The ROG phones and Zenfones are developed by 2 separate teams, and they're most likely not sharing camera tech whether it's due to internal competition (like their sales numbers get reviewed by upper management) or they simply have beef with each other, thus the difference in camera performance.

I used to be soooo excited about phones on the regular and the upgrades and new features every year. It's been YEARS since a phone has made me excited by being different and i gotta say, this one makes me pretty excited

I'm happy to see there are companies out here willing to try different looks and designs with the hardware. I'm kind of old now, but I miss having an interesting looking phone or unique looking phone in a group of ppl.

My main issue with ASUS is their updates track record. They take longer than almost any other OEM to release the upgrade to the next Android version and they drop support after 2 years.

I like the minimalist design a bit more, since it's less tacky, but I think they should have kept the hole-less screen as well as the bigger battery

I am just going to say this because it's wild, you reviewed a gaming phone and didn't play any games on it lol

What a gaming phone really needs is a screen with more rectangular corners similar to the s23 ultra, those corners noticeably make the screen seem bigger that it is when playing games and makes if feel like there is more space on screen for your fingers.

But the IP68 rating and the matrix screen on the back really sealed the deal for me.
