The heat is getting worse in the UK and there will come a time when even the whole of the UK will be unbearable although it might be HOT RAIN lol. Jesting aside most Americans/Canadians complain we don't have A/C because it does get hot and I never suffer from SAD during May-Oct. Yes the winters are a bit naff but I like it as I used to live in Goa where people died because of the heat. So scorn not Meghan our cooler weather for the moment as it's bearable, one day it may not be and that could be in your lifetime if things continue as they are :-(

I'd say that's a pretty good basic pointers for anyone, as you say depends what you are looking for. I'm happy in my quiet village saving money, and visiting from time to time haha

As a scot, I was in my tshirt from March to November when I worked in the area but the year I worked down south might have been warmer than it has been the last couple years

I worked 12 years on nights. When I started seeing day light again. I was and still am hit by depression all down to the fact that the Sun is always hiding behind clouds even on a good day. Winter in Britain is not fun. As for London. It is all things to all people. A great place to visit with plenty to see and do. Living there is not something I have ever done but used to have relatives living all over the City. Depends where you are and what you become used to.

I was last in London in 2006; I have never felt so out of place before or since, it was terrifying to feel alien in my own country.

London has changed over the last few decades. I used to do day trips. Not now! It's full of people who think it's odd when you say hello to them. With respect, it's full of foreigners who don't understand the local indigenous people. Sorry. Not for me.

I agree with nearly all your comments apart from the weather. I know you've not lived anywhere else in the UK, and you can get runs of bad summers, less days of sunshine, but I spent 10 years in London and the weather was much better, much more continental than anywhere else in the UK that I've lived!!! Sure you get rainy days, grey days, sometimes a grey week, but you also get a lot of warmer weather and sunshine as well.
