What a huge joy it’s been to play four concerts in Germany, this week! I loved getting to know the fantastic Klais in Frankfurt Dom - first time back in 23 years. That was my first ever concert in Germany and I well remember, as the concert was sponsored by Jaguar, I was transported to and from the airport in a brand-new XJR! This time I made do with my Enterprise Golf Turbo-Diesel. There’s no speed limit on much of the autobahn network here so I had a bit of rather juvenile fun, just once. Actually not all it’s made out to be … and on the A3 outside Cologne yesterday saw two very serious accidents. If anything goes wrong at 180kph, it’s very serious. So I’m quite content tootling along at 120kph, listening to Andrew MacGregor’s excellent Record Review on BBC Sounds 🎶🇬🇧.

Here’s some rather delicious Cochereau. How can it possibly be 30 years since I wrote it out? Time seems to go faster as you get older, doesn’t it?
