This is literally like a Kdrama, I always thought kdramas exaggeratedly portrayed these chaebol stories but they are very true and real

I just recently watched Reborn Rich and I have to say, the fiction isn't so far off from the real thing when it comes to the chaebols.

Chaebol marrying within Chaebol this is how concentrated money and power are handed down to the family tree

So this is basically kdrama but with no cinderella syndrome. A rich person marrying another rich person.

the comments 😬 i mean, ofc the rich would like to marry another rich person. it has more benefit. and who are we to assume everything is forced marriage. also they probably mingle within same social class so they know each other somehow

The 1st generations of Korean chaebols have all died, leaving only the 2-3 generations of golden spoons who have succeeded to their family business with 40% inheritance tax. It is rare for Koreans to respect them. Self-made 1st generations of IT companies are more popular.

One thing that is emphasized in Kdrama is that different levels of society generally are a bad match for marriage because of the way they are raised. It is, of course, possible for different classes to have a long marriage, but it usually doesn't work out as well as on TV! Unlike previous generations, though, the rich marriages now are rarely forced arrangements. Hope they do well together!

Funny! I was talking about the chaebol of Korea the past few days. I hope at least there is love but 80% more of arrangement in which family can strengthen the company more.

Saying this as a kdrama lover. Just because the two feature chaebols doesn't mean is the exact same thing. We don't know what happens behind doors. You just love to somehow tie a kdrama into something even if it has nothing to do with it.
