There is a quote that says the most sustainable clothes are the ones already in our closet. I believe the second most sustainable clothes are those that already exist. Whether you are looking to save money, shop more sustainably, or simply add some unique items to your wardrobe, shopping second hand is a great place to start!

In this video I talk all about the reasons I love buying clothing second hand, the barriers to second hand shopping, and show off some of the things I have purchased or received second hand.

Our most recent thrift store “score” was four Hawaiian shirts which my hubby wears to work. They were a 1/10 th the price of new, and in perfect shape. Definitely lightly used. And it was a fun afternoon finding them!

My greatest secondhand find are a pair of fur lined Dr Martens. they were dirty and costed just around 40€, I gave them some TLC and they are serving me already the 3rd winter and are still in excellent condition.

Plain black Salvatore Ferragamo purse I found for $10. It was just the right size and went with almost everything!

I am slightly opening up to second hand but it seems like online is the way to go. Just bought a refurbished iphone 14 pro max and saved around $240 versus buying brand new. I like the brand Travis Mathew but their polos cost around $90-$100 each. They go on sale but the particular design I wanted was very hard to find and at best I could buy brand new for $50. I was able to find a used one on ebay for $30 with shipping. I can afford new but with the savings I am able to get more stuff I want versus having a few stuff new.
