The most dangerous word: Jason Fischer at TEDxSanAntonio 2013

Most people speak and think frequently in terms of needs. I need to go to buy groceries; you need to be nice to me; we need to talk. In his TEDx presentation, Mr. Fischer will explain why "need" is one of the most dangerous words in the English language, how it adversely effects emotion and behavior, and—most importantly—what we can do to liberate ourselves from the bonds of this four-letter word, once and for all. When we do so, we discover the joyfulness of freedom that is rooted in one simple yet profound truth: there are no needs!

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

I think "want" is a much more harmful word than "need". I need to follow my own desire to be honest and decent, to honor the universe, to be respectful and respectable, because those things are important to me. Too many may hide behind the philosophy in this video, to be lazy, irresponsible, disrespectful, and dishonest. I'm not looking for relief or comfort, because those are illusions. What I strive for is to see all things for what they really are - not what I would like them to be - and that works in both directions - positive AND negative. As I've said ad nauseam, I will go to my grave beat down, depressed, disgusted, and whatever else, before I will try to BS myself.

HDspectrums, what you say is following what he is saying. However, if what you are trying to say is that are wants can possibly morally "wrong" (from the pespective of another), if that is what you WANT then do it, but undetstanding what you are doing, in modern society, has consequences. So is robbing a bank what really will make you happy, in the long run?

What if I WANT to rob a bank because I WANT more money because I WANT to live a happy life (just logic)
