The reason there’s a term ‘ below the belt’ is because it’s a sly move, it’s a dirty move. The low blow rule applies to both men. They both understand the rule and agree to fighting by that rule. Nobody can or should complain when something gets disallowed when a rule has been broken. A bit like a football player picking the ball up with his hands and running into the goal it’s against the rules and is not allowed so doesn’t count.
