Without the CG team, Marvel films are just various men named Chris in their pyjamas.

This guy comes across as both an absolute expert in the field, while also giving the vibe that no one told him that he’d be doing this until 10 minutes before they filmed this.

I just get so mad about this stuff because I know how underpaid and underappreciated CGI artists are. Marvel never tells them what is going on and never give them enough time.

Love that the wrinkly suit was Tom's idea

Tom Holland reminds me of those actors who go on to be excellent and exclusively film directors or stunt coordinators

Fixed: "cloth irons are expensive, its easier to whip the CGI team than for us to put the bare minimum effort in. Also tom was there for about 2 hours for face shots, the rest of the 240 days of production were 4 different stunt doubles paid in radioshack giftcards"

CG and visual effects have gotten so crazy advanced even in just a decade since I studied it in pre college. It blows my mind.

i just want to know how actors for these type of movies stay in that super hero character when everything around them would look so empty. are parts of the recording like a play either more enthusiasm? (idek how to ask this properly 💀)

And you wonder why they take years... It's actually more impressive how quickly they release movies.

crazy how the film industry found a way to reverse engineer just simply filming something in real life. like we used to just go to a highway and film it which is much easier and less expensive

I thought his suit was wrinkled because he was a teenager in high school in a mad rush to see a college admissions officer.

Moving cameras must be one of the most difficult things for effects.
I know ILM had a rig that replicated camera movements but that was for tiny models, crazy what effects teams do nowadays.

A bit like compositing!!!! The way we’ve done it in class is to motion track the irl camera (using existing video) to then create a camera in the program that moves in the same way. This allows us to insert animated things that look like they exist in the scene, by casting shadows and accepting reflections and the like. I love my major :)

I had to rewatch this five times before I realized he was just talking about a blue screen.

it's crazy how much they can do with a blue screen but I'd still rather them have more practical effects

Also the all metal suit is not existing 😂

"This is one he particularly did" sure that's a sentence and I'm still waiting for the stunt 😶
