DKW SB 200 Ignition Timing Centrifugal Governor Removal

Показать описание
DKW SB 200 Ignition timing centrifugal governor for advance, removal of flyweights following a Flyweight jam caused by the weight pivot pin backing out and jamming on cam.
Flyweights jamming can cause poor starting if jammed in the advance/running position (weights out) or an overly retarded spark causing bogging if jammed in the starting position (weights in).
The flywheel cover is easily removed without affecting the timing so it is worth checking the function of the centrifugal governor before adjusting timing.
One of my bolts is missing from the flywheel cover (usually 3) along with the circlip from the end of the timing cam. This circlip locks the cam on the crankshaft so would need to be removed if present. When I found a circlip to replace the missing part I found it pushed the cam too tightly against the weights restricting free movement. I am looking for a solution. I am also looking for a solution to stop the pivot pin backing out again as the lug on the pin that included a small locking pinhole to prevent it from rotating out has broken.
This was completed on a 1938 SB 200 however the process may also be similar on SB 250, SB 350 and SB 500 as well as models of DKW NZ, RT and KS.
