The only game in the series where he was not betrayed.
He even felt bad for both Oracle and Orkos which is very rare in GOW series, this shows that the Ghost of Sparta was a human too.

Ascension is truly a masterpiece.

By the first God of War he had lost it all to rage, remorse and the need for absolution.
After this game there was only revenge and death in his path, for he had become the perfect warrior.

Fun fact: the giant beast with a hundred hands (or was it 80?) Helped Zeus in the great war against the titans and even build the Opympus. But Zeus was distrustful of them and banished them anyway

God of War Ascension is an underrated game but it is so damn amazing!!

This game shows us the humanity Kratos had before he waged war on the gods, we can see how a caring man became a monster.

I would be so extremely terrified if ever a situation got that much out of hand. She literally has him locked in chains, yet she manages to not just miss a few attacks, but ends up accidentally releasing and arming him. Kratos is such a good character, he is pure hatred, rage and an unstoppable force, it's just so cathartic to watch.

When I watch this, I think seriously about (this is the same Kratos with the current Kratos now). It was totally different personality right there. He is so brutal and aggresive before. He changes so much to get peace. It's amazing character development.

Growing up watching God of war playthroughs one after another since i was a kid, its a dream come true to play it on pc. I have been thoroughly satisfied and excited to be part of the experience.

The prophecy did follow. The god of war did break the walls of Olympus and ended the Gods but it was not Ares and Kratos instead being the new god of war. Orkos actually caused the demise of the pantheon through his intention of saving and warning Olympus.
