Interesting course. Years ago I made a sketch of a track that I thought would be a good idea. It offered views of several sections of the track from one vantage point, like this one here, rather than making a big loop like Road America or Mid-Ohio.

Been here once and drove the track. Incredible facilities, and the track is good but a bit strange compared to a normal circuit here and even in Europe. Should be great fun to watch though!

This is the first time a professional motorsport has raced on a road course that is mainly motor club circuits with exotic supercars and other things. Soon IndyCar might decide to run on the course located in Nevada. Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch.

I genuinely do not understand this event. Who are they trying to appeal to with this? This sport is so bizarre and actively hurts people trying to get into it. Is this event for rich people? New fans? Old fans? The live in-person action for ticket holders? The TV spectacle? Thermal home owners? Why is this slap in the middle of the two first races? Why not let the season gain momentum and then hold this event? Why is this not being covered more on normal TV or all over social media? It's for a million dollars right? They want people to watch this right?

Indycar just seems so lost right now. Any criticism of this event or Indycar gets you shutdown by fans/redditors who talk about how great this sport is while simultaneously gatekeeping any enjoyment of it for new fans. No wonder Honda wants to pull out of Indycar...who wants to be seen with a sinking ship? This sport is so out of touch with reality I worry for the future of it. Indycar is so lost that you wonder what it will take to make things more appealing.

Yes, the racing is good. But PLEASE give us and potential new fans something to be excited about. This race definitely isn't it.
