Back in the 80's...a man from our town went to the Amazon. He first had to get a bunch of shots ...but anyway he went. He hired natives to go down the river...but the natives would only go so far, and stop. He was told large horrible things lived beyond that point. "Our hunters have gone beyond here and have never come back." and "Things are to be left alone in there." This man was not afraid of anything...but when he came back home he said it was like a nightmare there. He said the tribal people were nice, and they showed him things he found hard to believe..yet he was looking right at them. He said he would never go back..he went back to milking rattlesnakes for the venom for hospitals.
