I'm planning to get this, and incorporate it in to my midi controlled pedalboard. Signal chain would be pre-fx (overdrives, boosts, compressor) into the IR-X, and then out from the IR-X into an HX Effects for all the gooey stuff. Out from the HX in stereo, into a UA OX Stomp, straight to FOH.

There would also be a preset for running the rig in full wet/dry/wet, if there's an amp on stage to take advantage of the FX Send on the IR-X, to connect to the return on the stage amp.

17 years being a digital guy, bought my first tube amp less than one year ago from thomann, a engl fireball 25w, perfect german enginnering, like my telefunken speakers from 1953, and i will never turn back again to digital amps. I am still using a hx stomp in 4cm and i will keep it cause why not, i have everything there to shape the real amp, and i can record the sound of the amp with IR loaded in the HX stomp through the fx-loop. Maybe i will try the new analog Keeley pedal with the TS808 mode and the OD mode, just to see if i can squeeze a bit more of hi-fi. In my country there is a saying, translating is something like this "Nobody wants to go from horse to donkey".

Nice video 😊 Would be helpful though to see exactly which IR was being used at the time though. Pretty tough to see those tiny switches as you move them.

Can't help but notice you keep using the main gain controls when the boost is activated, yet the boost channels gain controls are independat and located on the side of the pedal; the top mounted ones aren't changing the sound you're hearing 😉

Amazing vid guys! I just bought it and LOVE it. However - what is the routing for running it as a preamp into the FX return of an AMP? If I want to include other pedals? Namely a POD GO? (this also has an FX loop and standard outs). Any help much appreciated! Thank you

Can you plug it in to a head which has build in effects like a Boss Katana and then use it with those effects, reverb, delay etc? And would you recommend it?
