Snakes rise up to threaten. They rise up to sense vibrations. In general it is not in the interests of the snake to initiate an attack against a very large creature. The risks to the snake are way too high. I have seen mock strikes where the snake makes a short lunge at something. Again it is usually trying to get the other creature to back away. Which in this case worked. The camera man did back away. Problem solved.
