The “break in case of zombies” bat is actually a reference to The Walking Dead, I believe. There’s a character who’s main weapon is a baseball bat with barbed wire wrapped around it. Just thought that was funny! Kinda caught me off guard lol

i am popping in 3 years later to say that just yesterday i did that exact same striping pattern in that exact same garage and seeing it kind of blew my mind a lil. truly brilliant.

For jobs I buy all the required furniture, pile it in the middle of the room, and then figure out exactly how the devs designed the place for all the pieces to fit best. That's really my challenge for the decorating jobs. In most cases that works out well, because somebody actually put some thought into it, but there was one job in the HGTV DLC that was basically impossible to fit AND still walk anywhere in the living room, and have it, ghods forbid, actually look good. I wish the game had a sketchbook of sorts where I can pick all the items I need and see at a glance what colours each has available, so I can pick options that end up looking good together, since there is no unified colour and pattern palette. Gah, I want to redesign the game itself so badly!

Luckily the game doesn't at all care (beyond the choices they impose) whether you honour the client's requests as to colour, or you'd be hosed in this case. ;) He likes white, grey, and blue, and you give him red and black (tho at least a little white). I think it looks fine, probably better than it would look with his stultified colour choice. Mine only didn't look insipidly boring because I used yellow as a splash accent and did a pretty inspired pattern for the floor), which at least nominally stuck with what he liked -- I mean, he did specify the banana speckle carpet, so yellow was obviously on his Swedish mind (though he could be Norwegian, oh well).

I've seen someone else do a play through of this game, but I only gotta say, you've played it better so far lol. And btw, the homeowner wanted blue, white, and gray colors, so not entirely sure why you put red accents in the living room.
