I sat with a friend who bought this product when it released. He eventually returned it due to numerous bugs in the hardware and software which limited the features of the product (Elgato also has this problem years after the Wave XLR's release so Rode isn't alone).

Been enjoying the StreamerX since I got it. I do hope that, in the next iteration, they have a second HDMI input and an on-off switch. Outside of that, if they could add a screen to show what the touch pads were mapped to do and 2 user-defined faders, that would tick off everything for my use case. (Maybe 1 more node for the EQ as well. I like having the option to have settings to adjust low, low-mid, upper-mid, and high-end).

i bought that thing pretty early and I had high hopes. To be honest, it "looks" like it would be amazing. BUT, once I worked with it there were quite a few shortcomings that i found annoying.
For starters the headphone out was just filthy sounding. Unusable for streaming live. Unless of course you love hearing awful noise while you stream. (I was using Rode headphones that came with the unit. But I tried plenty of other excellent headphones...still filthy)

Not having an option to label the pads was also annoying.

The video was also sketchy. Even after making certain that I had high end cables and was 100% for sure plugged into required USB the device still wouldnt always connect correctly to the camera.

I returned it after a couple of weeks and went back to the trusty Elgato stuff.

It was almost like they had someone who never streams at all design a device for streaming.

Love the Røde Streamer X. I think the most impressive thing I have seen for live streaming this year is the Sony ZV-E10 II being able to output 4K 30fps via USB-C.

I just picked one up for $250 and testing it out. I am impressed by much of it but I am also having my shares of frustrations. I am coming from having used a Go XLR mini for years and finding various elements of the software super buggy. That being said I haven't seen another device that I feel is comparable particularly since I need Mac and Windows compatibility.

The only things the Streamer X could really be better IMO would be 4k 120fps (matching newest iPhone 16 Pro) and possibly a second mic input (that could also be used with an instrument).
So something closer to a dedicated audio interface with a (long awaited...) improvement in video streaming/recording resolution. I just purchased my Streamer X and still waiting for it to arrive, after watching many videos detailing problems I wonder if the USB 3.0 cable issue has ever been addressed in concern with some Macs that have Wi-Fi connectivity issues when USB 3.0 cables (of poor quality, especially hubs or extensions where female ends are near the WiFi antenna?) Maybe that's a separate issue and hasn't come up yet, but something to be aware of all the same.

The features I wish it had: Support for a second wireless mic channel (yeah I know, but their wireless lav kits come in pairs), and line in and line out, because sometimes I need to tie in to venue PA systems. Great product and has worked flawlessly for me on both Windows and Mac.

I gave $72 for mine used. Still in the box. The guy selling it though it was broken because the USBC cable Rode sent was trash. Even used Rode sent me a new cable and it works perfectly. So for $72 it was a steal. I love it but I would have never given more than $150 new.

I bought streamer x few months ago, using as capture card and audio mixer for my laptop stream and ps5 stream, tomorrow i will build a new pc, i will be dual pc i need some help to the cables routing, can anyone help me please?
