Excellent listing! I particularly liked that you gave a short snippet of each game on the list. Informative and entertaining :)

Great video, John! Avoiding a spoiler here, I'll just say that your #1 on this list has been one of my favorites for years and the iOS app port of it is fantastic. Yes, it's a long game F2F, but playing async against your friends online is a great, affordable way to learn the game relatively quickly. If nothing else, a new player could use the app to learn the cards relatively quickly and be ready to be competitive with experienced players F2F.

I think Food Chain Magnate needed to make this list. That game you must always think 3 to 4 rounds ahead minimum. Especially when playing against pro players. That game is all about build order. But solid list. Through the Ages is one of my favorites.

great list ... it's interesting that quite some spots on the list are taken by 2016/17 releases.

I think that the most strategic planning game is In The Year of the Dragon. Since the very first turn you'll know what kind of Event you will face during the entire game itself. Great game!

Great list. I like how structured you do these! // Since this is the "Strategic" list, I think the text in the wrap up box left (38:40+) is wrong, because it reads "Tactical Wrap up"

Great list. I would like to know what you think of Tzolk'in: The Mayan Calendar and whether you considered it for this list, or why not.

Have you played Lignum? If you haven't, I suspect that game might make its way on to this list...

Hi, I am a backer and I have a suggestion... I like these lists but I would strongly suggest that you DO NOT try to explain the game as you go through the list... I see list makers often making that mistake... When you try to explain the game, even if just to justify why it is on the list, you fall on that grey zone where the explanation is not comprehensive enough for me to know how to play the game, but it is long enough to make it quite boring to listen to... people will then fast-forward the video. Instead, talk about the game, what you like and dislike, how it makes you feel, talk about a particular time you played it, etc. You may do a 30sec intro about it but then assume that people know the game or will seek it later at BGG if they want to... As an example, look at what the Dice Tower does... I really dislike their review’s format (yours are crazy better), but their list videos are great, because it is not about game explanation, it is like a conversation they are having in front of the camera... And I while I understand you are by yourself, still there are so much you can talk about... Best
