If rays from the sun are parallel, then eclipses do not cause two shadow types. (umbra, penumbra)
If rays do come in at all angles, then the Eratosthenes test and the belief that we can test the earth rotundity in the same way are out!
Only one of the above can be true and whichever stays means the other “fact” must go...
So think about it which one must go?

Impossible. From its closest point to its furthest point is a difference of 486 earths. Now imagine taking a basketball and attaching a temp sensor where NY would be located. Now imagine holding it near a heat source with angle tilted away VS 486 basketballs away with angle tilted towards heat source. Now imagine it reading hotter when it's further away just because you tilted it towards the heat source. Now realize how impossible it is.

The angle of light diagram you showed to try to make it make sense would only make sense if the sun projected its heat with a beam (like a laser beam), but it doesn't, it is a ball of fire projecting heat in all directions 360°.

If you truly believe we orbit the Sun, then how is it possible to see Venus at night? Venus orbits inside of our orbit right? And the shadow (night) is always facing our outer orbit. Therefore, in order to see Venus at night it would have had to cross our orbital plane.
