OSU Food Science launches new online store featuring student-made products

The student-run Arbuthnot Dairy Center at Oregon State University has been selling items under its “Beaver Classic” brand for a while now through local businesses and farmers markets.

Recently they launched a new online retail store where customers can buy cheeses, honey, even beef jerky.

About 15 students make up the program at the OSU creamery, making cheese and soon—ice cream.

Not only is it valuable work experience for those looking into a career in food service, but department head of Food Science and Technology, Dr. Lisbeth Goddik says experience in hands-on production is key.
