This video shows the wind load acting on buildings with example. Wind load is the lateral load acting on buildings and it should be considered while designing the structure. In low wind region however it can be neglected. Wind load comes under the category of lateral loads. Wind load on building can be calculated by using the below formula,

P= Ce Cd Qs Iw
where Ce is the exposure factor, gust factor, combined height factor.
Cd is the drag coefficient
Qs is the wind stagnation pressure
Iw is the importance factor.

putting and knowing all these values in pressure formula we get the wind load on buildings. Watch this video, calculation with example been carried to find the wind load. Hope it helps.

el procedimiento mostrado esta correcto, pero el ASCE 7 16, muestra en forma mas expedita la solución, y como determinar los coeficientes exteriores e interiores, sobre los diversos tipos de estructuras, por ejemplo, Bahamas, velocidad del viento 210 mph, las estructuras, no estaban proyectadas adecuadamente, resultado un colapso y desastre total, es decir el cambio climatico, nos obliga a esperar un huracan categoria VI.

The code shown here is not the ASCE 7-10 ...but...results will be within range....if the topographic factor is about 1... On the other hand...the velocity factor might be around 0.57 ...that will reduce the force almost by half....
