Musical theater is one of the hardest genres in which to work. You have to sing, act, and dance—often simultaneously. And while most people are confident in one or two of those three talents, being a triple threat can be a lifetime’s work.

*Breakdown*
0:17 - You've still got to "fake it"
0:25 - Storytelling aspect of an audition
0:40 - What you can't let happen at an audition
0:57 - What a casting director is (actually) looking for
1:23 - Are you taking dance classes?

Haha, that was me at my last call back. I was all smiles because I was failing so hard at the choreography! I made it in though! Guess his words have some truth.

A very helpful video, and I want more! When I tried to be an actor and failed at it I am the only one that ever happened to, right? Part of the problem was at an audition I was asked to dance and I was scared and froze. It was not a musical and I could not understand why they would ask me to do that. All these years later I now understand. Auditions or not, could you suggest as someone who is afraid to dance, which kind of dance class might be of help to me? This is addressed to Mr Whitley or anyone else who has any ideas about that. Thank you!
