I use this in my bathroom. It's pretty loud so it's easy to hear while your taking a shower. That said however I'm upgrading to the Echo Dot 4th Generation with the clock. It's a sphere and releasing in October or November. The 3rd Gen Dot I have now has the clock on it.

Had intended to get this for the bedroom, but from what I've read you can't turn the ring light off. I don't care for light pollution when trying to sleep, so I guess that plan is a no go.

You can fix the tenny sound inside the alexa app with the equalizer.

I just bought a 3rd gen Dot and the sound is so muffled! I opened the equalizer in the app and tried adjusting the sound. It made no difference at all. I have had a 1st gen Dot for years and the sound from it is better - not muffled at all. I’m thinking of returning this thing. Update: I returned it.

You really told me nothing. I got from a friend, but don't know what it is. What did you say, philosophical statement, not a thing about how specifically use it to function. Need go elsewhere to learn more. People know it, need not you to tell, people know know what it is, still don't after this.

Truthfully I just got the echo dot. The sound is not that good and of course Bluetooth keeps cutting off. Cutting off I mean it keeps disconnecting from my Windows 10 computer. Truthfully I'm really beginning to feel like the speaker was a waste of time and $$$$ because it is truly AZZ.

I had one laying at my house. So I set it up. Man I thought that the time would pop up on speakers but it didn't. Compared to echo alexa 5 its no match. I would say its good for a $20 budget nothing more. Not really worth it!
