I like how all of these lifer officers that couldn't finish an operation in Afghanistan for near 20 years are now EXPERTS at something they've ever won

All those billions and trillions for the military all those years and decades and they didn't stockpile enough ammo for a modest size war, WTF?

''If everyone would give to Ukraine proportionately what we have given to Ukraine, this war would be over.'' - Latvia's defense minister.

If you don't believe there aren't contractors with all the needed skillsets to be on the ground in Ukraine operating these systems and training personnel at this very moment...then I don't know what to tell you.

That is what all these arms were made for in the first place, to fight RU or China.

Part of the problem with the NATO peacetime inventories is that we are setup to rely a lot on air power. Ukraine has very little air power, and neither side has air supremacy. If NATO was fighting this war, air power would be doing much of what is now being done exclusively with artillery.

pov russia using soviet era gear: there running out there weak they are gonna fail. pov nato using soviet era gear: ITS A GREAT PLAN AND THEY ARE USED TO THE GEAR ITS NOT DESPERATE.

If NATO would have given Ukraine jet fighters and air defence systems from the begging then we would not be having this discussion.

Well that doesnt make any sense. If we cant resupply Ukraine, how we gonna even fight Russia if we come up against them? And if we ran out of supplies, given our Nato & Alliances close $100 trillions combined GDP, shouldnt Russia run out of weapons too? Or Russia has infinite weapons + enemy spanwn like in COD?

The "major issue" for Ukraine is that Ukraine will lose Bakhmut in some days. Bakhmut is the center of the Donbass region in geographic terms.

Boeing is working on making them a bunch of 100 mile missiles that aren't very expensive. I've been saying to send them a bunch of 105mm howitzers, and I see they've been doing that. A lot of these confrontations are within a few kilometers, well within the range of more plentiful munitions. Balkin states are cranking out rounds for those Soviet weapons.

That's the fighting spirit, Colonel!

I love everything about this guy's bookshelf -- especially the Latin primer on the lower shelves. I think he rearranges it periodically, to highlight interesting and off-beat volumes -- I'd never heard of "dust of the saints" but it is now one of my favorites -- I am certainly going to seek out "The Fortress" and "First Over There".

Takes 11 weeks to get basic training on patriot system, plus normally the real training doesn’t begin till you get to your unit and actually get practical application with the machine. 3-6months min before they could even b usable in ukraine, they r probably not getting the patriot system

This is the war we "would've been" fighting if Ukraine wasn't our proxy in this battle.
My point being, why all the incessant handwringing and lamenting our woes over stockpile depletion and replenishment?

We now know that "we" would have been woefully inadequate to confront Russia as well as China. This war is what we trained for and have this massive arsenal to encounter, etc.

Step up our game, don't talk about it, be about it.
Let's beat them "over there" and be done with it.

Can you please start negotiation and stop this insanity, or there are more weapons for selling so it is not good for the business?
