In February, I took my shahada and I was indeed tested by Allah numerous times but Alhamdulillah my faith in Allah still stands strong. I want to add:
Hey, because of my roots in the Philippines and Malaysian/Chinese areas I have been able to gain insight into just about every religious area. Including Christianity, Buddhism and Hinduism. I couldn't identify with any religion myself; I went to Christian school and Christian kindergarten and primary school and always took part in masses, holidays, etc. Nevertheless, with the times and expanded thinking I was able to make peace very quickly; it was Islam. It gripped me from that one day and a lot of things clicked and made sense to me. Outsiders, many people associate terror with religion and things that are always too quick to associate negative things with, but it is not what people always seem to think. What holds me back: I am (still) personally uncovered because I am afraid of being put down by my employer and fellow human beings or of being influenced in my professional life (I work in a respectable private clinic) even though it is just a scarf and doesn't change my qualities. And actually it is up to me to be able to live in a democracy the way I want to live and to be free, right? I don't support hate speech from any side of course, but we should be able to exchange ideas with each other in the comments here, right? But I think that nowadays certain people can only make themselves big and express their hatred on the internet. You just can't communicate intellectually with some people :) Laughing is sunnah, so we'll just leave it as it is :) always covering the whole thing, in this case half researched and not taking the other side, a shame. From the ground up to everyone, just as they are to me as a person, so I am to you. It is interesting that I always get the wrong look when I express my conversion, because everyone thinks that being a Muslim means being radical and disrespectful to others. People themselves are evil by nature, at least it is in all of us, and I think it is a real shame that nowadays everything has to be linked to religions. It is sad to see this encouragement and to put everyone in the same category. I have become very understanding of Islam through numerous books, audio books, etc. and have finally converted 7 years ago. I have decided on Islam on my own, out of my own interest and conviction, because for me it is the most peaceful religion. I still go to church and temple out of my own interest whenever I see one. I don’t know why everyone is pushing this agitation on both sides, but I can see that a lot of people are being agitated against Islam, even though they are such heartfelt people. Many have now accepted Islam and many are accepting it, and on a large scale... Ma sha Allah. It’s great that someone is converting, you are happy for another person when they find peace. And if you feel it, then good for them. Besides, no third party has the right to decide what stands between you and Allah swt. or to think of interfering - it’s really pointless to actually make the effort 🫣I can understand that parents are worried. But they also have to understand that everyone chooses their life differently and ultimately acts as they want anyway. Everyone has their own life 🤗
