I would love to see her actually do these things. See responses.

This only works if no one else is volunteering lol

I had a flight that was delayed 8+ hours once to Arizona. Went to the counter and they lady automatically gave us an $600 travel voucher each ($1200 total) plus a hotel stay and food stipend. That’s when I started looking into what compensation you can get for a delayed flight.

The gag was, we only paid $98+tax for the original flight

I got it! I was in an overbooked flight back from Paris and they offered me 1000 euros plus hotel, plus voucher for food and first class flight back home.

Key words: up for airline will most likely say vouchers and that's it. Do one.

Once flying home from Seattle, they were overbooked by a lot and kept asking for volunteers. Like for a half hour down to the wire, started low offers slowly built up to more. No one wanted it, most had flown from Alaska and were tired from all those delays. I forget the final offer but it was quite a lot and we almost took it. Included hotel, food, upgrade and a little cash.

It's up for negotiation so it will probably be harder to get all of that so easily

watch them take the first person who doesn't require luxury pampering lmao nobody will ever realistically get away with this. sorry erika just not viable in real life real world situations

I volunteered to give up my seat on an overbooked flight many years ago and got a free round trip ticket anywhere the airline flew in the continental USA. I didn't get a hotel room or anything because I only had to wait two hours until the next flight to my destination. I haven't had the chance to volunteer again since then, but I will keep this tip in mind if I do.

It really depends on this one. Most airports start gradually increasing the value of giving up a seat as time goes by if no one gives it up. You could do something like this but they could stop this offer and say someone else has given up their seat.

Me: "I need $1000, first class, three nights in a hotel room, plus amenities"
Airport: "Security..."

I think it would be cool if she had a bunch of real life negotiations and discussions recorded or secretly filmed to give context

Talking to yourself in the mirror results in a big win every. single. Time. Trust me, I know!

If this worked, I would be too busy laughing that I’d miss the next flight.
