I was in the first audience that ever heard the song played, Phil Collins himself told the audience 'that we were the first to hear that song.'
That was the 8th of April, 1978... Dayton Hara Arena, Ohio.
Phil tried to meet me backstage because he thought I was David Bowie (until I said to him):
"this is the first concert I've ever been to, you guys are great; you're going to go places!"

Fun fact:
Mike wasn’t really a fan of this song when he wrote it and even thought about scrapping it as he felt it was too lyrically repetitive. So they intended it to be just a B-side, but it wasn’t until the record execs told the band “guys, you have a hit here.”
The rest is history.
