Fly Trekker DS Helmet Review
The Fly Trekker DS Helmet is a brand new entry-level option for the ADV and dualsport rider looking for a lid that will perform in both on and off-road riding scenarios. With ample ventilation, a lightweight and durable shell, an adjustable visor, and the ability to wear goggles with the face shield open or closed, there really is a great deal of bang for the buck with the Trekker DS. Inside, the removable and washable comfort liner and cheek pads will help keep this helmet fresh.

The visor peak is not great for speeds over 75mph. If you are riding primarily on highways, I would recommend a helmet without the visor peak. ~Ali

Another option is to look at a hybrid helmet that is geared towards higher speed or street use. Two to check out are the Icon Variant or the Speed and Strength SS2500. ~Ali

I've been using this helmet for about four months and over all like it very much. I commute on my BMW F800GS almost everyday, and primarily take the interstate. The visor does not catch the wind at high speeds but I do have a tall wind screen on my bike. The only thing I can say negatively about it is that the visor does rattle a little bit. I've tried to lubricate, tighten, shim, etc. but nothing seems to help other than turning my music up. Over all I would highly recommend this helmet!

Ok, I see where you are talking about! Those vents are designed to draw air that comes from the chin vent. This keeps a steady strem of air along the inside of the faceshield and helps prevent fogging. -CK

Definitely not what is was intended for, but it could be used on a jetski. Extended exposure to moisture might prematurely break down the interior, especially if used in saltwater.

Typically, helmets with a visor peak and naked bikes do not go very well together because the peak creates too much drag at speed. You can always wear this helmet without the visor peak for an aggressive look. ~Ali

Aside from the chin strap, there are no features that differ between the 2 helmets. If you prefer D-ring, go for the Fly. ~Ali

The peak acts as a sort of air scoop that forces air through the vents that sit just behind it. In this manner, they are actually more effective than helmets without a peak. -CK

I have been very happy with this helmet so far. I have owned it just over a year now. It works great all year around, stays cool in the summer, and warm in the winter. Fit is great and I love the style. Bought it on a budget but honestly its held up very well after a year of use in a mix of conditions.

It seems like the XL is the correct size, especially if you've tried one on and it was comfortable. You might find the XXL is too big after the break in period, so I suggest sticking with the XL. ~Ali

I have this helmet and its great for dual sporting. It has fantastic ventilation and works well with goggles, shield up or down. Much more comfortable then other hybrid helmets I've tried in the same price range. The peak is well designed too, it doesn't feel like its going to rip your head off until you get past 70mph, which it great compared to straight dirt helmets.

I've had this helmet for over a year I use it for street bike riding and it looks great with or without the visor, I would recommend it to anyone

Just ordered a matte black Trekker with the gold shield.  I have plans to paint this OD green and have my airbrush buddy hook it up with some "Master Chief" details.  I'm excited even though the wife says it won't look right with the new Can Am Renegade.

This video was very helpful I bought the gloss black version of this helment about 2 months ago and watched this before buying . Fly makes great helments and this one both looks great and feels great, I've used it over an over for both street am offload riding, love it, thanks for the review. Vincernator
