Awesome! Thanks a ton for the shoutout! I knew it would come in handy for someone because I couldn't find much on it so I'm glad it helped.

Welcome to the potters’ world! Broken elements, exhausted thermocouples, failed relays! Enjoying your channel immensely though I am a potter by passion!

Nice work in the troubleshooting! Coil replacement is better than replacing the whole thing.

I am making my own kiln next week. I hope I can troubleshoot it when it breaks. I just couldn’t pay retail for a Winter hobby.

You can get more brick and Jam it in there. It's fairly cheap brick. Look up how to make your own heat treatment oven. Should be pretty easy for a diy'er.

But can you still make small individual pizzas in it?

check paragon ovens if you will ever look for an replacement ;)

I'm surprised you aren't using a vaccum oven yet, no scale on parts

Sorry, ignorant question here. What is the reason for foil wrapping the blades? Is it to stop oxidising when the blade is heated? Or is there another reason?

I feel your pain, we had ovens at my old work that had 10 or 12 coils in them. You had to basically crawl inside to change them, and a stiff breeze would damage the bricks. We tried repairing bricks with their repair kits, and it never worked well. We used Paragon ovens, and they used the same components... They require the same maintenance as EvenHeat ovens, so i don't know why everyone in the comments say to get Paragon ovens.

Move to paragon far better build quality. Are you resting the blades up against the wall of the kiln when heat treating?

Definitely check out Paragon. Alec Steele has been having great results with them.
