I've Chosen a Print on Demand Supplier | Starting Print on Demand in 2020

If you are starting a print on demand business in 2020 then choosing the best supplier is critical. In this video, I reveal the provider I have chosen to start my print on demand company.

When I first started researching print on demand UK companies I created a shortlist containing the following 4 UK suppliers: Printful, Inkthreadable, Streetshirts, and Two Fifteen.

However, following additional research, I now plan to launch my Print on Demand business using Teespring.

One of the main reasons for choosing Teespring is that it is a full turnkey solution, this means they will manage more of the process than other print on demand suppliers - this includes customer service and returns.

Although Teespring isn't a Print on Demand provider based in the UK, they do allow you to sell at UK prices and the orders are fulfilled from within the EU so delivery times shouldn't be too much longer than UK suppliers.

It is also very appealing to a beginner starting a print on demand business as you don't need to know how to setup a website, Teespring will provide you with your own storefront directly on Teespring.

As a result of this, Teespring is a very fast route to market and also a very low risk as it doesn't require a large time or financial investment.

Although I plan to use Teespring to start my POD business, there are 3 reasons why I'm not sure whether it will be my long term solution:

1) I do not want to be 100% reliant on a single company - Teespring control your website and fulfilment, I would like to have my own website so that I can use different providers if things don't work out with Teespring.

2) I want to build my own customer base that I have full access to, with Teespring the customers belong to them.

3) I may consider dropshipping complementary products alongside my clothing range, by having my own website I will be able to list these products - not just the ones Teespring provide.

If you are new to POD and wondering what Print on Demand is, I recommend watching my beginners guide to print on demand here:

Which supplier do you use (or plan to use) to make money with your print on demand business?

Let me know in the comments - I'll reply to everyone!

Hi, Great info thanks. Are you able to share ideas on how you might research/ come up with ideas for what may be a good niche or particular styles that could be in demand?
Cheers G

I've started looking in to Print On Demand as a result of your videos. I don't know if you've encountered them before, but have you tried Tee Mill? They're Isle Of White based, from the same people that make Rapanui (I have some of their tees and they're great quality and very comfortable). The USP being that they're sustainable, using organic cotton, renewable energy to manufacture, plastic free packaging etc etc. Be interested to hear if others have any thoughts on these guys? I'm sure the base product will be more expensive but the USP should mean you can keep your profits healthy.

NB I'm not paid by Rapanui or anything...just a happy consumer!

Hi Daren, I am planning to start a print on demand business. Your videos are great source of knowledge. You inspire me a lot. I was wondering if you can provide a feedback on the business as it has been an year since you have started this one. That would help the beginners like ne, a lot of insight if its a feasible model or not. Thank you

So happy to see your progress and how much you have done already with 2 weeks. Just a really quick one, are you able to talk about the legal aspect as well. As you mentioned you have other business i assume you have a business account, accountant and pay taxes ect. But for someone like myself i am getting to grips with the set up but also trying to understand the behind the scene as well. Hopefully you can maybe touch upon that aswell. Would appreciate your knowledge and advise & as always cannot wait to see the next one, im still stuck on finding a illustrator for my tees.

I also have to decide on a POD supplier. I was considering 2 15 and Printful, but 2 15 has awful support or to better said, no support. I wrote them on 23 April and still didn't have a reply...

Gooduck with it mate. I'm at the same point myself. Can I ask how much roughly you will spend on ads over a month? Facebook ads are totally new to me but I have a budget of around £500 to get started, is that enough to get a decent amount of likes on my page in your opinion? Cheers mate.

Even though you chose another option in the end - from those 4 suppliers Printful, Inkthreadable, Streetshirts or Two Fifteen which was the best sample, packaging, arrival time etc. ?
