🦋 More info below! 🦋

Cattleya Orchids are some of the showiest and most fragrant Orchids we can grow in our home! They are generally vigorous and easy to grow, if we know a few tips about them!

They love bright light and warm temperatures and don't really like cold weather. They are great for growing outdoor in warm weather!

Cattleya Orchids love air around their roots, so a ventilated pot and airy medium is a must! They also need feeding, a well rounded, complete fertilizer which also contains Calcium and Magnesium is ideal.

It's always best to stay on the drier side with these Orchids, so the premade mix is safe for most homes. In extremely hot environments sphagnum moss is a great addition to a bark mix!

Repotting is done just like with a Phalaenopsis orchid, the roots which are not alive anymore should be removed.

I really don't know how anybody could do a thumbs down on any of Miss Orchid Girl videos, jealousy maybe!

I watched this 3 years ago out of idle curiosity, but have rewatched it today because I just bought a couple of these orchids. You should be so proud that your content is always relevant and informative Dani. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge ❤

You are an INCREDIBLE presenter. (Would almost swear that you have been a teacher.) Your video is so easy to follow and extremely helpful to beginners. You reach your listener/viewer through your presentation style. RePotMe is fortunate to have you as a partner! Learned something new about cattleyas from this video. Thanks!

Greetings from South Georgia USA. I live about 45 minutes from Okefenokee Swamp. We have hot Summers and lots of humidity. We also have a few really cold Winter nights at least every other year - coldest I remember is two nights in a row of 17 degrees Fahrenheit.
This is a great video and I have watched it several times. I just purchased three Better-Gro Cattleyas in 2” pots from our local Loews. They were only $10 USD each and the leaves look very healthy. They were really well-packed, completely encased in protective netting with wire hoop to keep them from getting damaged. These are my first Cattleyas. I am watching your helpful videos today, trying to decide on medium for reporting either medium bark or LECA. I am almost sure I have decided against sphagnum moss for this variety. I have some new 4.5” breathable slotted pots, I am hoping they are small enough since these are in 2” pots right now. Currently they also have a layer of green moss - my first time seeing this. Thank you so much for offering all the videos. Thanks to your helpful videos I’m really enjoying my new hobby! Laurie T

I love my orchids and I added a Cattleya to my orchid family about six months ago. I purchased it in full bloom and it was beautiful. I watched this video twice until I felt comfortable and was now sure that it needed to be re-potted. The steps provided were excellent and I know just what to look for as it begins to bloom again. I live in a very warm climate so I grow them on our lanai. Last year I purchased all new pots from ' Repotme' and all of my orchids now have new homes. Thank you for your help, education and great videos. Thank you.

I got into orchids because I ran out of gardens ( mine and my mother's ) to work upon.
I love your video series because they are something like: "orchids for dummies" that has made keeping orchids for me so simple.
Now I'm going to need a bigger house !

Hi Dani, I truly enjoyed this video. So informative. I have 5 Cattleyas in my collection. 3 near blooming size and 2 seedlings, so I have a bit of time before I hopefully see some flowers. I am enjoying watching them progress and they seem to like what I'm doing. Hope to see more tutorials from you like this one. Thanks so much. 🌼🌻🌺🌹🏵💮🌸💐🌷🌱
