SMCI's main competitive advantage was to be alone in a new market that was created by NVIDIA, the one of data centers for AI. That was its pricing power.
But by the end of Q1 NVIDIA started selling not just GPU's, but complete datacenters as well, and so did HP, DELL and others, all of them competing with SMCI.
SMCI still had huge sales this quarter, but the high margins aren't there anymore, neither will they return anytime soon.
