Hi everybody. Welcome to The English Room. My name is Kelsey and I'm a guest teacher from the United States.

I've been teaching English for two years and I love to work with my students on learning target language that they will need in the real world.

I really like to practice pronunciation and listening to native speakers as well as asking for feedback and giving feedback at the end of the lesson so that we can learn and grow together.

I speak two other languages so I know what it feels like to be frustrated that you can't express yourself or to feel embarrassed because you accidentally said something funny, but I don't use translation in my English classes because when we learn our native languages we don't translate.

We just practice and repeat and use the words that we do know to learn new words even though it feels harder at first to learn this way you're going to learn much faster and be more fluent in the end.

I love to dance and I grew up dancing ballet and in college, I found social dancing and at first, I started with salsa and in 2014 I fell in love with Brazilian zouk it's still my favorite dance.

A funny fact about me is that I don't have Facebook or Instagram. I love yoga and meditation and I've found that not having these social media profiles helps me focus more on the present moment.

I do have WhatsApp though and I'm active in The English Room practice group so you can find me there and I look forward to seeing you in class.
