#shorts Musk first announced their idea for a Tesla Bot in 2021. Now a couple of years later, an update video shows they have made significant improvements to their previous designs. The new robot, named Optimus Gen 2, is faster, lighter and has moment capabilities that resemble a human. Can this robot rival Digit or Atlas?

I'd prefer that these bots do jobs that are hazardous to people. Like toxic or lethal environments that could kill a human or do severe damage to the human body. Low to zero oxygen areas like in space or at the bottom of the ocean that has enormous pressure.

Send them to defuse a bomb, fix downed power lines, go into an unstable area that could collapse or a burning structure to rescue people. Go on a search mission nonstop as in nonstop equipped with all sorts of sensors and cameras.

Let them do those task. Don't make humans completely obsolete.

I hate to say this, but they'll make warfare completely terrifying if these bots were mass produced in the millions and sent to war. Either their ai or remote controlled it's still would be terrifying for the losing side.

Boston Dynamics admited Atlas was a demonstration bot. Mass production isn't even possible in that form. Good luck trying to compete.

The really interesting fact about Optimus is the speed at which it evolves. Imagine all the other robots evolving at that speed in the past. We would be living in a science fiction movie by now.

They havent been working on the bot "for a while now". They just announced it in 2021 and had a working prototype by 2023. They almost have a viable first of its kind product ready for industrial cases in less than a year. Thats lightening speed.

It may have more movement or even generic intelligence, but they still can’t replace the human spine. It’s a superior design for bipedal walking…that’s why the bot is still walking that way

It’s not competing with other robots. This bot has hands and brains, it’s in a league of its own. It’s competing with human labour. These Optimus bots will be made by Optimus bots.
