Slab Flattening Mill-PRO | Woodpeckers Tools

Показать описание

Imagine milling a flat face on a live edge slab over 4-feet wide and up to 3-3/8" thick without having to shim the rails or your work piece...or, milling stock a fraction of an inch thick, again without shimming either your stock or the rails. Now, imagine milling slabs with virtually all the shavings captured by your dust collector. It’s time to stop imagining and start milling with The Slab Flattening Mill PRO.

Working with feedback from thousands of Slab Flattening Mill customers we’ve redesigned the router carriage with a greater thickness range and integrated dust capture right at the source. The “PRO” details don’t stop with the feature-packed new carriage. We also extended the rails, increasing the standard width capacity to a massive 48-1/2" wide (using a 2” cutter…even more with a larger bit)

How do you make the rail slides easier?

I really hope you update the board mill with woodpecker colors and the newer feature. I don't always need to flatten 12/4 stock but next week I've got 200 board feet to do by hand.

Looks like a really nice upgrade! Unfortunately, I bought the extended slab flattener last summer with the old carriage. Any chance of a discount for customers that bought the version 1.0? Another $400 is a bummer. The $90 dust collection shroud I bought last summer is 100% worthless...the new system looks much better.

Does it work with Makita RP2301Fc router?

Wait, what the heck is this?? I just bought one on amazon (because your shipping was at least 3 weeks). Didn’t get here yet. Is there one I didn’t see on your site? Those sweeping plastic strips would be a lot better than what others have reviewed on the dust collector part. Please advise.

Too bad they don't return emails. I messaged to see if my festool router 1400 was compatible since it only lists the 2200 on their site. But it's been a couple of weeks and no response. Their customer service is not giving me confidence

Just bought this. Need a plan for a 4x8 table like the one shown here. Any ideas?

Simply way too expensive, then theres added shipping and sales tax. Only chance of me buying one is at a rare woodworking show discount where I can also save on shipping otherwise I'll continue to outsource at a nearby facility where they only charge me $1sq ft for both sides including sanding.

Hello,
Unfortunately, this setup is the easy part of the whole story. This system works only if the 2 rails are in the same plane and that is far more involved. Also the rails must be level. Otherwise, you may end up with flat but tapered surface. Hopefully, there are instructions on how level and get the 2 rails in the same plane. If the instructions are simply to install this on flat surface, then you have to figure that out and that may be easy if you already have flat surface or quite involved depending on your setup and how much accurate you want your surface to be flat. I built my own similar setup for less than $50 and spent several hours to get the top of the rails to be level and in the same plane and that is the hard part. Otherwise, I think this is a nice setup if you can afford to spend that much money on it.

I was so excited to finally be able to afford one of these. $1100 for this thing and it doesn't come assembled, or with directions. Just a big box of parts. It really irritates me how cheap you guys went on literally everything with this. Don't waste your money people. Just build your own out of wood or find your own extruded metal. I'm going on week 2 without a responce to missing parts and directions.
My old one made from left over plywood slides smoother
